Why does the interaction of the sun's magnetic field and charged particles lead to a large decrease in the angular momentum of the sun?

Solution:

As the Sun rotates it carries magnetic field lines with it. These magnetic field lines interacted with the charged particles which further combined with the gas and dust. The magnetic field spins around the material in the nebula near sun and it linked the material in nebula to the rotation of Sun. Material of nebula gained the angular momentum ( or rotation) and hence dragged the Sun's rotation. Hence Sun's rotation is slowed down and there is a large decrease in the angular momentum of the Sun.
