She states the following hypothesis in the description of her study: Students who participate in tutorials that emphasise critical thinking skills will score higher on measures od academic achievement and self-esteem than students who participate tutorials that emphasise rote memorisation.

In this case, the researcher wants to study about the participation of students in academic achievement.

Hypothesis taken by the researcher is that students who participate in tutorials involved in critical thinking will score higher than students who focus on memorization.

The variables in this case study, would be the students, Parents, Educational background of parents, Standard of living of students and parents, Quality of the tutorials given, Education of teachers, Habits of students.

Dependent variables are those that depend on each other and increase and decrease on the same line.

In this case, the dependent variables would be the habits of students, standard of living of students and parents, Quality of tutorials given, etc

Independent Variables are those, that are not dependent on each other .

In this case, the independent variables would be Education level of teachers and parents, etc.
