we need to use ANOVA to test for the mean different in this case

ANOVA has two degree of freedoms

df1 (degree of freedom of numerator)= number of categories - 1

= 3 - 1 ........because we have 3 treatments, so 3 categories

= 2

and

df2 (degree of freedom of denominator)=total data values - number of categories

= 24-3

= 21

using excel function F.INV.RT(alpha,df1,df2)

setting alpha = 0.10, df1 = 2 and df2 = 21

we get

F critical = F.INV.RT(0.10,2,21)

= 2.57
