D2 = distance travelled at constant acceleration = 110 - D1 = 110 - 17.5 = 92.5

Vo = initial speed = 25 m/s

Vf = final speed = 0 m/s

t = time taken

a = acceleration

using the equation

Vf2 = Vo2 + 2 a D2

02 = 252 + 2 a (92.5)

a = - 3.4 m/s2

Using the equation

Vf = Vo + at

0 = 25 - 3.4 t

t = 7.4 sec
