This app is currently being developed for the Android platform only, with plans in the near future to develop on iOS. The project has been ongoing for 2 months, with a timeline of 2.5 months (hard go-live date) and $18k budget. The customer is coming tomorrow (Tuesday) for the final demo (2 months into the project). Midday, your software development lead comes to you and says "Hey, the app's code has become corrupted, and functionality has been lost. It will take us 4 days to troubleshoot this, but we need to postpone the demo". As the PM, how do you approach this situation?

As a project manager,I would call my team for a meeting and would discuss about the issues in detail.I would ask the team about how the code has been corrupted and how long it would take to regain the code and deliver the App to the customer.Since it is unexpected,there may be delay in delivery of the software.Since the functionality is lost it must be communicated to the customer.I would call the customer and explain him the situation about the corrupted code and ask apologies for the delay and request to give some more time to deliver the software.I would also ensure that the code would be regained and the software would be delivered to the customer as early as possible with a final demo.I would also request the team members to look into the issue and solve it as early as possible so that the delay can be reduced.I would ask for apologies to the customer and request to give some time to resolve and deliver the software as per the requirements.The project is ongoing for two months but the timeline is two and half months so i would request the customers that the software would be delivered as per the timeline but only the final demo to the softwarre would be delayed
