Development refers to the process of growth and advancement in different fields or areas. It stands for rising or getting a step ahead or improving. One can develop physically, psychologically, financially, economically, socially, etc. There are many important factors affecting one's development. Proper nutrition is one of them. The food which a person consumes, affects his physical development and his level of exertion in his area of expertise. One's nutrition should be such that it does not create dietary deficiencies. The behaviour of parents play a major role in one's developmet as a person. Parents should be caring and supportive of their children's efforts. They should not be too possessive, aggressive and strict with their children. They should have a friendly approach towards their children. Social-culture factors also affect one's development. One's neighbourhood play a very important role in determining the kind of social group a person belongs to. Even one's school and workplace should have sound cultural background, that can nurture a person and help him develop. Environmental factors also affect one's development. Our environment is being poisoned by pollution, harmful gases and hazardous chemical substances. It needs protection by planting trees and preventing pollution. One's development can be disturbed, due to disturbances faced by mother nature.
Situations and circumstances can cause a person to change. When situation changes, it demands changes in the individual, be it changes in his personality, bodily changes, changes in work or home, etc. A person is likely to remain the same, if the situation or circumstances occurring in his life do not demand major changes in him (like physical change or personality change, etc). Thus, it indicates that external factors play a crucial role in changing a person or maintaining him as the same individual
