A graduated cylinder is filled to the 20 cm mark with an emulsion of oil of density 800 kg/m3 and water. The gauge pressure at the bottom of the cylinder is 1864 Pa. The solution is left to sit, and the oil slowly separates from the water and rises to the top. (a) Calculate the height of the water, hwater, and the oil, hoil. (b) What is the gauge pressure at the bottom of the container once the solution has completely demulsified?
