1. vertebrae are the individual bones which interlock each other to form vertebral column. It transmits body weight while standing and walking. The vertebral body is a cylindrical shaped part of the vertebrae which provides major structural support.

the most common type of spine fracture is compression fracture of the vertebral body. it occurs due to sudden downward force. The symptoms of compression fracture includes pain in back, arms or legs.
