Ans 4: Ethanol has a molecular formula of C2H5OH so the functional group of ethanol and not ethane is hydroxyl group or OH group.

5: The ion has 6 protons, 7 neutrons and has a +2 charge which means that it has donated 2 electrons and because of this it carries +2 charge. Now the atomic number is equal to the total number of protons so the atomic number of this ion is 6 or Six.

6: In water the hydrogens atoms are connected to the oxygen atom by covalent bonds.

7: The atoms are most stable when their octate is completely filled with electrons for example inert gases like He, Ne etc.

8: Buffer solutions are used in labs for their no change in the pH.
