Answer #1

Answer:

(8)

By using given data,

Geography:

Mean = \mu = 80

SD = \sigma = 20

X = 56

Transforming to Standard Normal Variate:
Z = (X - \mu)/\sigma

= (56 - 80)/20

= - 1.2

Mathematics:
Mean = \mu = 300

SD = \sigma = 10

X = 285

Z = (X - \mu)/\sigma

= (285- 300)/10

= - 1.5

Since the Z score are different for both geography and mathematics, here student scored are also different levels the subjects .
