I need to design a PID controller for Microchips AN964 which stablises an inverted pendulum. I am having trouble understanding how to design the mathematical model of the complete system including the cart which can be controlled by a PID controller. How would I go about doing this?

Hi champ, i have also been trying to get the mathematical modelling of this AN964. I have tried a lot searching many people finally i got a response from a guy who helped with a pdf that explained me clearly regarding this modelling.

I will share it you and hope that might help you a bit. As yiu know deriving a mathematical model for this complex pendulum is tough . Any doubts in that can be asked without hesitation.//img.homeworklib.com/questions/6b73dd20-3b29-11ec-b106-7f14f46adc14.png?x-oss-process=image/resize,w_560

Please go yhrough the link of mine . You will get full details. Thanks chsmp. Happy HomeworkLibing

Problem 2 (25%). Deriving the EOM and finding the response. The inverted pendulum below consists of springs with two different stiffness: ki and k2 rectangular rod with mass M, length L, and inertia about its CG is IcG-ML/12 (note: I usually just say inertia but we always mean mass moment of inertia! It is a property of the body and describes how the mass is distributed. Larger inertias mean that they have more resistance to a change in motion.) ....

I have some question about PID applied Cruise Control within Simulink. First of all, am a bit confused about the the property of PID applied feedback system. According to the following figure, the use of a PID controller is to minimize or eliminate the difference between SP and PV. However, since a transfer function has been applied to the loop which is the process block in the following diagram then how the difference could be possibly erased?       For example,...

SOLVE JUST PART B The goal is to design controllers which will improve the efficiency of the elevator system, i.e., to enable fast positioning of the car without big vibrations which may lead to not only longer time for positioning (why?), but also safety risks or damage to environment and the machine itself a) Elaborate on how you would design feedback controllers to improve the efficiency of the elevating system.
