I have already been experiencing a bit of the problem like Generalised Anxiety Disorder. But as i have myself been the sufferer, i was never with an initiative to better comprehend the allied facets.
The various root reasons were sufficient enough to bring much more anxiety to me. I am an Indian and the financial condition of my family in my childhood was a drastic one. I somehow completed my education by earning on my own. This had been the first reason for worry in the begining.
Gradually, i started working and took the responsibility on my shoulders but there were conflicts in my family as we were a combined family including grandparents, parents, uncle, aunt and the cousins as well. The difference of opinions and the conflict/ disturbance were a regular feature.
I got married but my wife suffered from severe problems during pregnancy. The workplace where i am working is with a lot of target pressures and it is quite difficult to achieve a balance between the family and the work. All this got mixed and i used to be under the burden of worries and anxiety.
I tended to be indecisive, restless and was never able to concentrate quickly. There was always a fear of unknown and i was inclined nearly to pessimism. There was hardly a sound sleep and nervousness was perennial.
I gave up alcohol and endeavoured to set my priorities. Setting the priorities and working according to them were the urgent tasks i was successful to accomplish and thereby reduced my anxiety to a considerable extent.
I approached for the treatment to a therapist and he suggested me the cognitive behavioural treatment. The information i got regarding "generalised anxiety disorder" made me better handle it. If there are such situations in the life to come, i am confident that i will handle with all the positive mindset.
