10. Why can it be said that all life depends upon plants for their survival.

It is fair to say that all of the lives depend on plants for their survival. The reasons might be as follows:

  • We depend on plants for our food. Whatever we are eating would be coming directly from the different species of plants.
  • The regulation of water cycle is carried out by plants. They also work by moving of the water of soil into the atmosphere. This process is called transpiration.
  • We get oxygen from plants, as they release oxygen as a photosynthesis byproduct.
  • They are a source of medicine as many of the alkaloids help in serving as medicinal healers. Moreover, before the advent of synthetic medicines, herbs had been the only method to prevent diseases.
  • They serve as the carbon dioxide store as the carbon dioxide produced by burning fuels are taken up by the plants.
