The three major information system trends are

a) IoT
It is referred as Internet of Things. It is basically used for connectivity of different devices over the Internet, in which they can exchange data and information. By the help of IoT we can control devices by smart phones. Example we can switch off our fan from office, or control the AC temperature from office. The IoT devices has sensors in it by which the devices can be controlled remotely.

b) Cloud Computing

Cloud computing is a concept by which over the internet we can access services or computer without having it physically installed. It means that instead of purchasing a server or a service or storage physically we will hire it from Internet and do our work. In cloud computing the physical resources are shared over the Internet by the cloud computing services company. By cloud computing the computing tasks are easy with the help of Internet.

c) Machine Learning

It is technology of artificial intelligence where a computing system can learn by its experience which it gathered from the data. We need not to program for the experience, the system automatically experience itself through leaning.

Now a days without Internet and www nothing is possible. We just require a computer or a mobile with Internet connectivity by which we can do any work like saving data in excel or sending information to client or doing the high computer jobs.
If we look back like 10 years before where we have a computer and we work on it without Internet and have to do our jobs, but now a days everything is online, when we do a job it immediately get effected in our information system.
