a. If you were given microarray data from the cells of a new patient belonging to either group I or group II, you would probably be able to tell which group the patient belong to.

b. A different set of genes is transcribed in cells from the patients in Group) compared to the cells from the patients in Group II

c. For some genes, there is variation in the amount of mRNA present. Even among the patients of the same group.

The given microarray does not give a clear picture of the pattern of gene expression with respect to cancer. Patients of the same group have a different amount of mRNA for the same gene. Patients of one group should have the same pattern of gene expression. The DNA chip shows the expression of different genes in the cells of patients of group I and group II. This does not give information about the gene expression affected by cancer disease in the patients. Therefore, DNA chip from a different patient belonging to either group is required.
