The length of the cylinder (Height ), h= 3.15 in= 3.15 x 2.54 cm=8 cm

The radius of the cylinder = 0.42 in = 0.42 x 2.54 =1.06 cm

Mass of metal cylinder= 52 g

Volume =\pi r^2 h = 3.14 \times (1.06cm )^2 \times 8 cm=28.2 \ cm^3

Density of a metal is defined as the ratio of mass of the metal to the volume occupied by that metal.

Density=\frac{Mass}{Volume}\\ \\ \\ =\frac{52\ g}{28.2 \ cm^3}\\ \\ \\ =1.84 \ g/cm^3
