At least once per episode in the old Superman TV shows, Superman
would grab the barrel of a gun being pointed at him by a bad guy
and bend it. The distraught bad guy was left holding a gun with a
bent barrel. Even assuming Superman is really super strong, what is
wrong with the physics in this scene?
(By the way, Hollywood has not progressed much on the
physics accuracy front. The first Spiderman movie, for just one
example, was wrought with such inconsistencies. Gravity, while
lauded for its visuals, had a lot of bad basic physics. The
transgressions of the Harry Potter movies may be forgiven, as magic
is allowed to ignore physics.)
