1) Mean = 0.4*11+0.3*24+0.2*3+0.1*4 = 12.6

Variance = 0.4*11*11+0.3*24*24+0.2*3*3+0.1*4*4 -12.6*12.6 =65.84

Standard deviation = \sqrt{65.84}

= 8.11
