Here, bracket represents that this particular row contains the median and number shown in the bracket represents number of digits in the rows.

From Figure A- median is lying somewhat in middle and , number of data points lying left and right is almost equal. also therefore suggesting that distribution is symmetric.

In Fig B- Median is somewhat below the middle of stem and leaf plot, so there are large number of data points at below of the plot. Also data values having higher marks are below median suggesting that mean should below median Thus it makes the distribution left skewed or negatively skewed.
