Answer #1

Question1(Answer)

Boiling point directly proportional to Surface area as well as Vanderwaals forces

NH3 has higher boiling point than both CH4 and PH3 because N atom is more electronegative. NH3 exhibit Intermolecular hydrogenbonding while PH3 and CH4 does not any hydrogen bonding.Due to hydrogen bonding NH3 have more strong Intermolecular force than other. Thus the extra energy needed to break these hydrogen bond to NH3.Thus NH3 have higher boiling point than Both PH3 and CH4.

PH3 has higher boiling point than CH4.Because PH bond length is less than CH bond length. Thus in phosphine the intermolecular distance is lesser as compared to methane which means more energy is required to separate the molecules ,hence higher boiling point.

According to above exaplaintion

Hence Answer C is correct.

Question2(Answer)

Instantaneous dipole-induced dipole forces or London dispersion forces: forces caused by correlated movements of the electrons in interacting molecules, which are the weakest of intermolecular forces and are categorized as van der Waals forces.

Hence answer e is correct .(Dispersion force)
