In a position-time graph, the slope of the curve gives the velocity of the object, as velocity,v = change in postion/change in time = dx/dt

The steeper the slope, more the velocity as dx/dt is more.

If the slope is negative, then, direction of velocity is in the opposite direction. This is because, the change in position is negative.

(1) Point A lies on a straight line parallel to x-axis. The position of car is same at points G, A and F as time is increasing, this means that the velocity is zero. TRUE

(2) Slope of line passing through point E will be much larger than that passing through I. Therefore, speed at E is greater. TRUE.

(3) At point I, the slope is negative, that is, car's is opposite to direction of motion, hence west. FALSE.

(4) same as (3). TRUE.

(5) B doesn't lie on a line that is parallel to x-axis. Therefore, the car has some velocity at B. FALSE
