RO OR Br 5 5 Br R=-CH13 Ni(cod), 2,2-bipyridine 1,5-cyclooctadiene RO OR 4 (30%) RO -OR RO OR

Can anyone explain me the mechanism of cyclic formation via Yamamoto coupling? why the compound forms cycles and not linear polymer? how we can understand that macrocylce is generated and not the linear polymer? how to differentiate the ring size whether its five membered or three membered or 10 membered ring?
