synchronous generator.  The generator has a synchronous reactance of XS 

= 0.7 Ω/phase, and the maximum excitation is 2.0 pu.  The maximum rotor 

angle for safe, stable operation is 60°. 


Explain how correct scaling of the chart is achieved and clearly indicate all 

operating limits.  Use the chart to determine the excitation and the rotor 

angle at full load, i.e. 7500 kW, 0.8 pf lag.
