Ans to 5. Food chain: In which chain or network the energy moves from one living object to another is called food chain. Food chain mainly starts from plants. Because plants primarily store the energy direct from sunlight by the photosynthesis process. Then the animals eat plants. And then other animals also eat those animals. Thus the food chain continues and the energy moves from one to another. Example: Grass is eaten by goats. Goats are eaten by tigers.

Ans to 7. Oceanic food chain:

               Plants and algae

                   Copepods

                     Herring

                       Cod

                       seal

                Killer whale.

Because here plant and algae are the food producer. They make food themselves and store energy by photosynthesis. copepods eat algae and plants. so they are primary consumer. Herring eat copepods. Cod eats herring. seal eat cod and the killer whale eat the seal. Thus the oceanic food chain continues.

Ans to 8. Chemosynthesis: In which process the bacteria make food with the presence of inorganic chemicals and absence of sunlight is called chemosynthesis. The chemicals are used here as energy sources. This process mainly held in the deep oceanic region where sunlight can not be reached.
