Answer #1

Oxidation :

Oxidation is the loss of electrons during a reaction by a molecule, atom or ion.

Oxidation occurs when the oxidation state of a molecule, atom or ion is increased

Reduction :

Reduction is the transfer of electrons between species in a chemical reaction where there is a process of gaining electrons or a decrease in the oxidation state by an element

Answers

a) B is best oxidizing agent because it has tendency to accept electrons and its energy is less than A.

b) C is the best reducing agent as it has more electrons it can donate electrons and get reduced by oxidizing other species.

c) No A is not able to oxidize B , because B is comparably stable than A and it cannot donate electrons to A

d) Yes C can reduce A by donationg electrons to A. Because C has more electrons.
