Answer #1

Buoyant force = volume of body submerged * density of liquid * g

Apparent weight = weight of body in air - buoyant force

Given :

mass of rock = M = 8.98 kg

apparent mass = m = 6.07 kg

d = density of water = 1000 kg/m^3

Let V be the volume of rock, which can be expressed as V = M/D

Lets assume density of rock be D.

Now using the formula :

Apparent weight = weight of body in air - buoyant force

The density of the rock is . [answer]
