Chordae tendineae is small collagenic structure. Atrioventricular valve anchored on papillary muscles which is located in ventricles of heart,attach to the cusps of the atrioventricular valves (mitral and tricuspid valves) by the chordae tendineae.

Function involves the contraction relaxation control,as the ventricles contract, pressure gradients across the valves pull the cusps shut.
