A circuit must handle an adjusted load (165 amps x 1.25) of 206 amps. Per Table 28.2, 75 C column, this will require a 4/0 conductor. It has been decided that it will be more cost effective to install parallel conductors to serve the load. Which of the following parallel conductors will be sufficient for this circuit?

Note: the number in parentheses represents the quantity of conductors to be used, i.e (2) is two conductors.

Answer #1

4/0 wire gauge size conductor can handle current of ampacity level 230A. Rating size is 206 A.

As per NEC wire gauge size of 2 handle 115 A current.

So two conductor of wire gauge size (2) can be used in parallel.
