The wind flows are subparallel or oblique to the isobars as the geostrophic winds are deflected due to friction at the surface. The winds are clockwise around the high-pressure centers, and anti-clockwise around the low-pressure center.
The compass directions are marked as NW (northwest, behind the cold front), NE (northeast, around the low-pressure center), E (east, near the boundary between NWT and Yukon), S (south, behind the warm front).
