1. Lead car batteries comprises of PbO2 (an amphoteric oxide), PbSO4 (a lead salt) and H2SO4 (an acid).

2. In cleaning agents, ammonia, sodium hypochlorite and sodium hydroxide (bases), and citric acid or vinegar (acids) are used.

3. Strong acid like H2SO4 or strong base like NaOH is used to unclogged the drains. Sodium hydroxide is used as oven cleaner.

4. Magnesium hydroxide, Mg(OH)2 is a base used as an antacid to relieve indigestion. Indigestion is caused by high amount of acid produced in the stomach. This acid can be neutralized by using mild base.
