In a one-way ANOVA, what does it mean to reject the statement in the null hypothesis if three treatment groups are being compared? Choose the correct answer below.

A. Rejecting the statement in the null hypothesis means that there is insufficient evidence to conclude that the mean of one of the populations is different than the other two or that all three populations are different.

B. Rejecting the statement in the null hypothesis means that there is sufficient evidence to conclude that the means of all three populations are different.

C. Rejecting the statement in the null hypothesis means that one of the conditions for performing a one-way ANOVA was not met.

D. Rejecting the statement in the null hypothesis means that there is sufficient evidence to conclude that the mean of one of the populations is different than the other two or that all three populations are different.

Answer #1

One way anova is used to compare difference between more than two population means.

Null hypothesis : all means are equal

Alternative hypothesis : atlaest one of the mean is different.

So,if we reject the null hypothesis when conducting one way anova we can conclude that one of the mean is different or all the means are different.

Option d
