How does hypothesis testing help support the fields that employ the scientific method?
Hypothesis testing is a tool to check whether the hypothesis of any method is appropriate or not. For example, for a scientific method say testing of blood pressures of a sample of people gives value and we want to check whether this value can be generalized to a whole population or not then we can use hypothesis testing. In this way, hypothesis testing supports all the fields that employ the scientific method because we can use it to test the results of the scientific method for the general population.

How does hypothesis testing help support the fields that employ the scientific method?
Explain how hypothesis testing and statistical inferences based on two samples are used to support areas of industry research, academic research, and scientific research.
ESAND ABUSES 1 Uses Hypothesis Testing Hypothesis testing is important in many different fields because it gives a scientific procedure for assessing the validity of a claim about a population. Some of the concepts in hypothesis testing are intuitive, but some are not. For instance, the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition suggests that eating dark chocolate can help prevent heart disease. A random sample of healthy volunteers were assigned to eat 3.5 ounces of dark chocolate each day for 15...

provide suggestions to improve scientific method. Examples: How can the hypothesis be edited to make it more specific (better)? Is a proper control group included? Are the independent, dependent and controlled variables correctly identified? How can the experimental design be improved?

Background Information: Null Hypothesis Significance Testing (NHST) has long been the workhorse of the scientific method. The procedure, familiar to us from Modules 7-9, is Assume a null hypothesis Calculate a test statistic If the test-statistic reaches the designated significance level (alpha), reject the null hypothesis, usually in favor of the theory you propose Despite its ubiquity, the procedure has received a fair amount of criticism. Some of these critiques are: We often already know the null hypothesis is unlikely...
