   (a) Find three different sizes of square tiles that could be used to completely fill the rectangular space, with no tiles overlapping and no tiles overhanging the border.

   (b) Determine the smallest number of square tiles that could be used to fill the rectangular space.

3. (Exercise 8 textbook page 11) A group of nine people, some adults and some children, went to a movie theatre. Adult admission was $8 and child admission was $5. The amount charged was $55. Could this amount be correct?

4. John ate 1/2 of the cookies from a plate. Mary then ate 2/3 of what was left. Then Peter ate 1/3 of what Mary had left. Finally, Jane took half the remaining cookies. After that, there was exactly one cookie left on the plate. How many cookies did Mary eat ? Explain your work. The answer alone will not give you credit.
