1) a possible population

The population consists of all the observations. In the casino, we are concered with the outcome of the rolling of 6-sided dice.

Hence the population will be the all the rolls of a pair of 6-sided dice in the games.

2) whether the data is discrete , continuous or categorical

Since both the dice can have only discrete values of 1 - 6,

data is discrete.

3) the sample space for one sample or observation

The event is rolling a pair of dice. So the sample space of one observation is

S = { (1,1) , (1,2) , (1,3) , (1, 4), (1,5), (1,6),

(2,1), (2,2), (2,3), (2,4), (2,5), (2,6),

  (3,1), (3,2), (3,3), (3,4), (3,5), (3,6),

(4,1), (4,2), (4,3), (4,4), (4,5), (4,6),

(5,1), (5,2), (5,3), (5,4), (5,5), (5,6),

(6,1), (6,2), (6,3), (6,4), (6,5), (6,6) }
