Lesson: Electromagnetism and The X-ray Circuit
What is the purpose of transformers?
A transformer is an electromagnetic device used for increasing (Step up) or decreasing (Step down) the voltage (potential difference) of incoming electrical energy to an appropriate level without appreciable loss of energy.
PS: In X ray circuits, we generally use step down transformer to lower down the voltage.
Comment in case any doubt please rate my answer
Transformers are used to increase or decrease incoming voltages to meet the requirements of the load .
