Answer #1

Problem a) Why is it that if you shine a white light on an egg yolk it still appears yellow?

ans: egg contain yellow carotenoid pigment. wthus hen white light pass through it yellow fluorescence appear and shows yellow appearance.

Problem b) Egg yolks may get colour from carotenoids. Explain why feeding chickens carotenoids results in deeper yellow egg yolks but does not turn egg whites yellow?

ans: egg yolk color depend on hen's diet. If a hens given plenty of yellow-orange plant pigments normally xanthophylls in their diet, the xanthophylls will be deposited in the egg yolk. thus feeding chickens carotenoids results in deeper yellow egg yolk. egg white contain plenty of protein and calcium. as a result of plenty calcium content, egg whites turns in white colour and not shows yellow appearance.

Can you please explain step by step how to solve these type of questions please. White light is a mixture of all colors with wavelengths between 400 and 700m. If we shine white light on two narrow slits spaced 1 x 10 m apart and place a screen 3 m behind the slits, we will see sn interference pattern a little different from the one we saw in DL. Notice that every wavelenght of light has its n = 0...

In this experiment, you will measure the rate of photosynthesis in isolated chloroplasts using the dye 2,6-dichloroindophenol (DPIP). The transfer of electrons during the light-dependent reaction results in the production of H+. This H+ ion can reduce DPIP, changing its color from blue to clear. The color can be quantitatively measured with a spectrophotometer. However, in this experiment, you will qualitatively analyze your data. Write a detailed conclusion for your experiment. How did light affect the time it took for...
