Answer #1

Internal chart audits are self-assessment based audits that are performed by individuals to evaluate their own performance w.r.t. the assigned tasks. These audits are meant to provide a self-learning mechanism for employees. They can review their work and improve upon their productivity. However, if the documentation is incomplete or incorrect, the purpose of the entire process remains unsolved. The objective of self-realization and self-correction cannot be achieved. Hence, the audits become of no importance towards development of individuals as well as organizational success.

In order to handle these issues, Malik first has to train and ascertain regarding the importance of proper documentation for internal chart audits. He must educate the employees regarding the systematic documentation method/s and oversee it's implementation. Then, he must facilitate the understanding and interpretation of the data and reports based on these audits, such that employees realize the benefits of this self-assessment procedures. Also, they must begin to develop the innovative minds in order to enhance improvement in their productivity. Thereby motivating and encouraging them and ensuring that the continuous improvement culture is developed in the organization.
