"What does the work imply about the possibilities of sisterhood as a mode of resisting patriarchy?"

Sisterhood is understanding the problems of the fellow person especially of the females by the females without being judgemental and discriminatory, and working to find solutions together. Sisterhood is having empathetic understanding where there is no jealousy as in the story of "prodigal son" - the jealous and complaining elder brother, when the younger brother returned to his father's house, and the jealousy of Dee over giving grandma's quilt to Maggie. When there an understanding beyond jealousy and competition, there will be hand in hand supporting each other and walking towards progress leading to a society that is free from patriarchy and suppression. Education must be utilized for each other's upliftment and empowerment otherwise it could lead to division as happened in the story " Everyday Use". If Dee would had used her education that was the result of the efforts of Mama, for the upliftment of herself, her mother and sister, they would have empowered each other and would have moved forward in their life resisting the Patriarchy and having a respectable identity of themselves.
