1)To manage Medical Records or health records data electronically, replacing paper work for quick access

2) To improve the quality of health care management including patient management, operations management, health care professionals mangement

4) Help patients to get tele - medicine based consulting with their doctors being in remote location avoiding long travels and waits in hospitals

5) Helps online E-prescriptions and online orders to pharmacies and get medicines shipped as home deliveries

6) Enable access to Electronic Medical Records (EMR) anytime , anywhere using any digital devices

7) Support healthcare management for policy decisions related to health care

8) Improve quality of the services provided to patients and timely services

Electronic medical Record(EMR)

EMR refers to storing a patient's medical information in a digital format using EMR software applications . The EMR software will create , organize , patients medical information so that it can be accessed anytime , anywhere using desktops, laptops, electronic tablets are mobile devices subject to goverment regulations ,without compromising confidentialtiy of patients

The hospitals can purchase EMR software's and integrate with their Health Information systems

Electronic Health Record (EHR)

EHR also similar to EMR but maintains patient's health information and history in more detailed manner.

E- Prescriptions

The E- prescriptions refers to prescriptions created by medical professionals such as doctors who may written with their signature or print outs with signature scanned and uploaded as a electronic copy online in the patient's portal or by electronic mail after diagnosing the patient's EMR or EHR and seeing the patient through video conferencing as part of tele-medicine concept . The E-prescription can be sent to insurance provider or patient or pharmacy online or electronically.

E- Pharmacy

The pharmacy can deliver the medicines to patients' home using E-Prescriptions and do alert for refill along with doses through Health Information system portals or their own portals where patients will be registered to access

2) Follow the protocols ,polices and guidelines of the government related to health care management and information services

4) The Health care Information Systems can have Patient Management( Patient Registration, admission of In Patients, Out-Patients consultation etc) Health care professionals Management , E-Pharmacy Management , Operations Management of various services and Medical care departments (surgery, testing labs, equipments, blood bank etc )along with Decision support systems integrated with HIS.
