Standards:

Standards are normally referred as a particular comparative level which can be used to achieve certain quality of work or product. Defining standards in quality of work means defining guidelines which needs to be followed during that work. And standards in products means product should provide that much amount of features.

Positives

Negatives

  • Provide a level to compare the quality
  • In case of infinite scope, provide a stop level where work can be considered as completed
  • Represents a symbol of respect for business in market
  • Helps in improving quality after each step
  • High level standards increases stress and indirectly affects work and mental life of employee
  • As per best standards, the product with second best standards doesn’t return much money

Part 2

There are many types of standards defined in organization:

For example:

  • Sales target to achieve in a month: to achieve predetermined level of profit
  • Quality and cost standards: to offer the product with optimized price and features.
