The thought that made be choose the IT field is it is the fastest changing industry. Everyday we can see a new technology comes up with a whole lot of functionalities and features. Whether it is an app or website or a robotic arm working in a factory or banking , every sector , every place is flooded with the magic of IT. Secondly IT field has lower education rate around the world. People can learn new technology by watching a bunch of youtube videos and can get very skilled at it. Thirdly this field has literally the best pay rates as compared to any other jobs in the world. Seeing all this I made a choice to opt my career in IT.
When I stepped into this world I was a little familiar with the technology. But IT is like a deep ocean the more deeper you go the more number of things you find to learn and at the Mariana Trench of this ocean you can even find the technologies with the help of which the first computers were made. In my college life I have learnt app development, website development, blockchain technology, big data, cloud computing and many others and these technologies never end. There is always more and more to explore. Currently I know much about this things as it has been four years in this stream and I am very excited everyday to learn new things.
With my IT degree I would try to find a good job where my skills can add some value to the organization. The thing that matters is your knowledge. The more knowledge you have the more you are likely to be approached by big organisations. With my qualification I would certainly find a good job and try to develop something that will change the world, a thing that can help people solve their problems and feel good.
I expected to learn a lot of things but the most important thing which I learnt is discipline. If you want to learn something you have to be fully dedicated and study things with discipline. You can't stop studying in between. Like if you are leaning blockchain with help of video tutorials then you can't stop after 6-7 videos and think that you will continue some other day. You have to consistently study and practice to have command on that particular technology. Other things I learnt are time management ,i.e., how to manage time between studies, movies, sports and classes. On the technological side you can learn about the processes which are happening behind the starting of a computer or the work which is happening in your computer when you are submitting a question , etc.
The ever changing yet evergreen behaviour of this stream is what that makes me passionate about this technology. There are a million things to learn and to apply. Everyday a million things are being done and developed in this field. Whether they are tweets posted by someone on twitter or a youtube video uploaded by someone everything is controlled by technology. In short words we are surrounded by technology from everywhere. I just enjoy these things and that makes me more excited about this field.
