Why should abortion be legal?
Abortion is termination of the pregnancy by removal or expulsion of the fetus prior to its survival outside the uterus. Pregnancy is a very complicated process physically, mentally, emotionally for not just one female but also for every others within her family circle. Pregnancy shall reduce the overall health, of the female considerably. If the female is healthy, fit the probability for her to deliver a healthy child and survive is high yet there is a probability where there could be complications at the end of the hour and many things could go wrong. Thus, if it is a young woman, with no experience to handle her pregnancy, and no people to help her, guide her through the process, many thing can go wrong for the baby as well as the woman. Thus, if the doctors or the family believes that the pregnancy is not going on in the right direction or they happen to feel that they cannot go beyond a certain time period normally, they should be offered a chance to abort. Thus, only cases such as these should be permitted to prefer abortion. Like a pregnancy, abortion is also a complicated process and there are many chances for things to go wrong for the woman. For these reasons the abortions must be made legal.
Apart from the above discussed, there could be cases of teenage pregnancy due to unwanted behaviors and affairs. The pregnancy for a teenage and other young woman shall be stressful and shall also drain the health. In cases where the male partner is nowhere to be around the female would be in a stress and her maturity in age and life shall not allow her to take care of herself and baby during the pregnancy. To avoid the life threatening situation for the teen mother and the baby, abortion should be made legal.
If the abortion is not a legal process, the chance for the existence of the same as a undercover process even for those who need them the most would exists easily. By making abortion legal, government can directly control the unnecessary reasons an abortion is done. This shall also seed the fear in the minds of young people who take pregnancy lightly and make mistakes. Due to these, the female-male relationship shall easily get refined. There shall be a considerable decrease in the teenage pregnancy.
Besides all the above mentioned, the condition of the fetus and the mother should also be taken in ethically and moral way. The fetus is considered a person by some and not a person by some. By the fact could be that, the fetus after its birth is a baby and the baby shall grow into a toddler, then into a kid and then into a teen followed by adolescence and becomes an adult.
The baby that is not aborted but happened to be born healthy, with or without the family in and around shall experience stress that shall put the individual into a state where there is not recovery for him/her as well as the family. The quality of life of the individual and the family shall be lost. By allowing the baby to be born both the baby and the family is directly sentenced to life long sentence with no help around for their recovery. Sending the child to child home, foster care are not the solutions as the nation has seen many horrific crimes by people from there. These are some of the ill effects of not making abortion a legal one as if the abortion is illegal individuals will have no other option but to continue with the pregnancy till the birth or death of the baby or even the mother. Post the pregnancy, if the child is really unwanted, and if it is not up for adoption, as an infant many things could probably go wrong for the baby. The baby shall have a very disturbed childhood and shall live a miserable life for years.
Thus, to an extend abortion must be made legal in order to preserve the present i.e. the mother, family and their mental health and also the future i.e. to make future where people do not live miserable lives.
By making it legal the government can also curb the illegal black markets in the medical industry easily. Besides these, the overall burden of the healthcare department to attend to critical pregnancy cases and loss of lives during pregnancy shall also be greatly reduced.
Thus, for all the above reasons discussed, it would be a favor for the really needy people if abortion is made legal.
