How might one create a burglar alarm system using the PT5529B-L2-H2-F photo transistor in which a 12 Volt alarm sounds continuously when a person breaks the laser beam? Include a user button to reset the system and turn off the alarm after a burglar has triggered it. Provide a detailed circuit diagram and a brief explanation of operation. Hint: use an SR latch and any other logic gate to provide the logic. Apply the output of the logic to the...

    2. A feedback control system is subject to disturbances at the actuator input, as shown in the following block diagram. Remember that you need to use the final value theorem (and not the table) when dealing with any other input other than the reference. See the last 3 pages, 12-15, of my steady-state error lecture notes for examples on how to deal with disturbance rather than reference inputs D(s) 1 Y(s) $3+2s2+2s If the reference command is r(t) 1S 0,...

Desgin a state graph and state table of a state machine simulating the control of an automatic car wash. Depending on inputs from the user, the simulator will cycle through states representing inactive, rinse #1, soap spray, scrub, rinse #2, wax, rinse #3. There will be three inputs. One ("start") will activate the car wash, one ("deluxe") will choose between a normal cycle (skip the last two steps of wax, rinse #3) and a deluxe cycle, and one ("kill") will...

Design a system whose output goes high only after 8 consecutive 1's appear on the input; once the output goes high, it takes four consecutive 0's on the input to make the output go low again. You will use one switch as the input, and one button as the clock. On a piece of paper, sketch an FSM diagram that solves the design problem. Make sure your FSM diagram meets the following requirements: - All states are properly specified. Each...
