Answer #1

The dot blot technique is an experimental technique in molecular biology and is used to detect the proteins. In this technique it is very important to heat or boil the DNA before the method because this helps in denaturing the DNA which is very important for the process and for characterization. In case the DNA sample is not boiled, it will give negative result as the sample has not been denatured.

You find yourself setting up another Western blot, however. today you are preparing the samples to load onto the SDS-PAGE gel. You are using a 4-20%SDS-PAGE gel that can hold a maximum of 30 μしper 1 You remember from you so decided to prepare each sample with a final volume of 25 uL. However, no one is perfect at pipetting, so make sure each sample is made at 1.5X the total volume needed per well. The protein you are interested...

Please answer the below genetics question and show/explain all work. 4. You've recently discovered the sequences for two alleles for the mouse gene XCD, which you have creatively named XCD and XCD2. This gene is believed to be involved in fat metabolism, somehow, but you haven't successfully been able to isolate the protein yet. You've also noticed that your mutant grey coat mice tend to be much leaner and muscular than those with the standard white coat. So for your...

For the preparation and standardization of NaOH with KHP im supposed to boil water for 1hr and 30 min to remove CO2....the problem is that if I don't boil it for that long and (30 min) b/c of not enough time but I put the water I boiled for 1/2 hr aproximately into a NaOH bottle with a CO2 absorber and stored it there for a few days. I would assume that I would have to boil the water again...but...

PLEASE COMPUTER TYPED* OR VERY CLEAR HANDWRITING with details 1. Radioactive (14C) uridine (lots of it) is added to a growing culture of bacteria for 10 seconds and then the drug rifamycin is added (rifamycin blocks the initiation of transcription, but not continued elongation of RNA polymerases that have already begun transcribing). At two-minute intervals, 1 ml samples are removed and placed on ice. The bacteria are lysed (broken open) and an enzyme is added that will chew up all...

Ken: Thanks for coming everyone. This is our price setting meeting for the launch of the new K-J Game Box next year. By way of background, on average our competitors have a unit cost of around $50. When they first launched, they sold the units to retailers at around $350, hence a $300 margin. The retailers then sold the product to their customers at around $700. And, as we know, those same competitive products are now sold into retailers at...
