Answer #1

Answer-

According to he given question-

HPV- is also called  human papillomavirus is DNA virus and have circular Double stranded DNA responsible for cervical cancer.

genome of HPV is compact and having Polycistronic transcription sites with overlapping open reading frames and the regulation of RNA transcription is occur in nucleus while translation in the cytoplasm for the regulation of gene expression.

HIV- also called human immunodeficiency viruses belongs to  Lentivirus and infect humans leads to failure of immune system as well as AIDS. human immunodeficiency viruses infect  CD4+ helper T  cells, macrophages, as well as dendritic cells. HIV have two copies of positive-sense single-stranded RNA responsible for coding nine genes.  Both HPV and HIV are  spread through sexually transmitted infection.

overlapping regions are responsible for encoding high level of protein intrinsic disorder in the RNA viruses which are unspliced. HIV virus have short linear motifs as well as protein phosphorylation sites responsible for host–virus interaction. short linear motifs which are present in overlapping regions are more functional than which are present in non-overlapping region.

So the correct answer for the question characteristics do HPV and HIV have in common is (A) both have overlapping genes.
