Electrophoresis is the movement of charge particles on proper media applying electric current. Generally used to separate charged particles based on their size, charge etc.
Applications of electrophoretic techniques:

i) Electrophoresis used to separate mixture of proteins by using polyacrylamide gel media.

ii) Identifification and study of DNA fragments as smaller fragments separated first which collected to study their properties.

iii) Seperation and isentification of lipoproteins for various lipid metabolism disorders.

iv) Electrophoresis can be use to identify various antibody in human fluids to discover antigenic substance like vaccines.

v) It can be used to identify the results of polymerase chain reaction (PCR) products

vi) Major application is to find out impurities in any charged particles like proteins, coloids etc.
