The only intermolecular forces in methane are London dispersion forces, due to induced dipole moment.

The electronegativities of C and H are so close that C-H bonds are nonpolar. There are no bond dipoles and no dipole-dipole intermoleclar forces.

Due to there is no strong electronegative atoms like O, F, N etc. No hydrogen bonding.

Molecule ion attractions are not present in methane.
