Bill of rights got added to the constitution because it was felt important to impose these amendments for protecting the freedom of people from the government power as there were several things which was not covered under government law so for making government law more stronger bill of rights had to be added. The first amendment is for protecting personal liberty which is freedom of religion and speech. The second amendment is the right to bear arms and assemble militias. The third amendment is for ban on quartering soldiers in homes.The fourth amendment is for ban on unreasonable search and seizure.The fifth amendment is for right of the accused to a grand jury indictment and due process,ban on double jeapardy and self-incriminating. The sixth amendment is for the right of the accused to a speedy and public trI also. The seventh amendment is right of the accused to triall by jury in common law.The eight amendment is banglori on excessive bails ,fines ,cruel and unusual punishment. So these are the points which were not covered under government law.
