1)When two waves interfere constructively(crest on one wave fall on crest on another wave), resultant amplitude is maximum.

Energe transported by the wave(directly proportional to the square of th amplitude) is maximum.

2)When two waves interfere destructively(crest on one wave fall on trough on another wave), resultant amplitude is minimum

Energe transported by the wave(directly proportional to the square of th amplitude) is minmum.

3)When two waves of equal amplitudes interfere destructively resultant amplitude is zero.Energe transported by the wave(directly proportional to the square of th amplitude) is zero.

Interference is energy distribution process. so if two waves of equal amplitudes interfere destructively, energy is zero

at every point in that region.
