Aggression: It is type of behavior. People who suffers with this behavior tries to do harm to others and self.

Parenting style: The participation of parents in growth of children is called parenting style.

Authoritarian parenting style : A parenting style in which parents shows authority on children is called authoritarian parenting style. Parents likes to punish children for their mistakes rather than understanding the children.

Can parenting styles cause aggression?

Yeah, parenting style causes aggression. 4 types of parenting styles are there. Those are Authoritarian, Authoritative, Permissive and Uninvolved parenting styles. Researchers found that out of 4, Only Authoritarian parenting styles causes aggression.

Authoritarian parenting style parents wants to put rules on children. They expects obedience and discipline from children. They wants to punish children if children crossed the rules. They don't want to explain reasons of children's mistakes and wants to punish the children for their mistakes.

In this parenting style most of the time children experiences depression, loneliness,fear, anxiety etc. They suppresses all those desires, thoughts, emotions due to fear of getting punishment. Those suppressed emotions will be settled at subconscious and makes children behavior as aggressive behavior.

In this way authoritarian parenting style makes children as aggressive.
